Reasons to Take The Course

Mechanical, electrical and environmental stresses can cause a breakdown in the inter-laminar insulation on Stator Core assemblies which can lead to fault currents.  These fault currents create hot spots which can cause further deterioration to the core.   If left unchecked, this can lead to damage to the stator winding and the machine as a whole. This course discusses stator core failure mechanisms, and how the EL CID test can find them.

EL CID is a simple, cost effective, preventative maintenance tool for checking core lamination integrity

Training Scope:

• Stator core design basics
• Basic principles of EL CID testing including safety considerations and test calculations
• Overview of the EL CID Instrument
• Use of ELAN data interpretation software
• EL CID Test Procedures on turbo generators, hydro generators and motors
• Practical test on large motor stator core
• Written test
• Certificate on completion of written and practical test

• Thursday May 8 | 9:00 am – Noon

Mladen Sasic has thirty years of international experience in design, production, installation, testing and maintenance of Power generation, transmission and distribution equipment. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering-Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Sarajevo
